Basil Soda | Spring-Summer 2013
My friend Arielle (aka paper-crane) and I are putting together a zine for the upcoming con season! If you’re gonna be at Anime Boston or Anime Next (more cons TBA), come find us to grab a copy of our limited run, self-published zine!
It’s about cartoon/anime nostalgia mash-ups and features 18 talented artists.
The top image is my submission for the book and the bottom image is our shipment of the covers I designed. Peep the zine tag (“that’s so sugoi! zine) to check out more work!
GUYS. GUYS. GUYS. SERIOUSLY.
Summertime Fanart Giveaway!
Hello friends,
I’ve reached a point where I don’t know what to do with all of the fanart I make and they are just cluttering up my little apartment, so I’ve decided to just give em away. I’ve never done one of these before, but I guess how it’s usually done is something like this:I’ll pick 10 random people who’ve reblogged this post on May 25 and they can have whatever they want from what I’ve dug out of boxes and pictured above - I’ll even take care of mailing it to you, wherever you are. I can’t sell them so if there’s anyone who’s interested in them I’d rather you have them instead of them going into the trash! Reblog as many times as you like!
~p.s. if you think I’m dumb for not taking money for this stuff, if you like it, or me, perhaps something original of mine would also catch your fancy uwu~
Thanks for looking!

DUDE IS THAT RANMA?! yesssss please.
Some more sketches from the journal I kept in 2009 during Tangled while developing the character of Rapunzel. These drawings are from my research of what a typical day in the life of Rapunzel might have been.
She would write in her journal, do laundry, prepare the fireplace for her daily hair brushing session with Mother Gothel. She had chores. She had ideas. She had good days and bad. Some days her paintings represented her hope, other days they represented her fears. Rapunzel was a regular girl bursting at the seems with creativity. Walls could not contain her spirit.
This journal later helped me when designing Rapunzel’s murals for the movie.
